A place that I would hardly have known if a friend had not taken me there. I discovered a farm, one of many, they call their work and do everything to characterize their commercial activity. The beauty is that this can be seen and perceived. You can see why the internal arrangements and also the room in front of the fireplace with the armchairs as seats indicate an environment that wants to be familiar and comfortable, next to an open kitchen that also wants to tell you a lot about how they intend to work. Being a farm they also sell the products they make and there is everything based on oil so much so that the appetizer served with a foam obviously made of oil was ear licking. The stuffed ravioli pasta was also excellent, I was less satisfied with the meat but only because I was already full and therefore I didn't eat with the favor of my appetite as the starter which was nothing short of exceptional as well as extremely important from a quantitative point of view he had already played his game. A place where I definitely want to return with my family.
Unforgettable experience at the restaurant. On a menu proposed by the staff and booked for 15 people many days in advance, appetizer served on a small plate and without anything special.
First: (good) but really insufficient portion.
Second: if that could be called a portion of guinea fowl... a "taste" (I asked for at least one more piece but they told me it was finished) and as a side dish ONE forkful of chicory.
Usual dry biscuits...I don't think I'll be back
Yesterday in the Latina Fiori shopping center in Latina I saw your sales station.
I wanted to buy two of your specialties... pickled Itra olives and orange, …
A very warm and welcoming place, we stayed during this Christmas period and the impact was immediately very positive. The food was truly excellent with quality products and the staff was very kind in satisfying the children's numerous requests. Compliments.
Valvisciolo Abbey is a fascinating and historic place located in a breathtaking natural environment. Its medieval architecture is impressive and offers a unique perspective on the history of the region.
The highlight of this place is its tranquil atmosphere and the serene beauty that surrounds it. It's a perfect place for a relaxing visit and to reflect on history and spirituality.
However, a note to keep in mind is that access may be a little tricky, with narrow and winding roads to reach the abbey. Furthermore, the abbey could benefit from a greater maintenance effort.
Ultimately, Valvisciolo Abbey is a unique place that deserves a visit for its historical and natural beauty. Despite some access and maintenance challenges, its peaceful atmosphere and historical significance make it a rewarding experience, deserving a 4-star rating.
We booked a room for the evening of 24/8 as we had a ceremony nearby which would finish late.
We were assigned a room with no outside lights, with only one of the 2 wall lights working with dim light inside and also in the bathroom only one very dim light (the mirror lamp was out of order).
Together with the key, which was difficult to extract from the lock, we were given a card to place on the intercom to open the gate in the event of returning after midnight/one o'clock.
On our way back that night, around 1.30 am, we found that the card wasn't working so we were stuck outside the gate without the possibility of entering at least on foot (my ninety-year-old mother was also with us). We tried contacting the telephone numbers indicated without any response, so much so that we were ready to return home, leaving our things for the following day. We tried to contact the local police to find out if they could tell us how to track down the owners but unfortunately the barracks were closed.
When we had almost lost hope, after about half an hour, fortunately some people who had been at the same ceremony as us arrived and with their card we managed to enter.
Once back in the room, we had to take a shower with freezing water as the hot water didn't come out, because as we were told later, "sometimes" the boiler goes off at night.
In the morning at breakfast we talked about what had happened but when it came time to pay the bill we didn't get any relief compared to what was expected, not even a formal apology for which we won't set foot there again.
Place away from traffic and noise. The care in the preparation of the dishes and the genuine taste are worth trying. Very interesting home-produced wines.
We stayed at this farmhouse via Smartbox. The staff was friendly and helpful in changing our room due to the lack of hot water in the shower. The rooms have rustic furnishings, the swimming pool is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape and the exteriors are well-kept. Breakfast was presented on a plate directly at the table. It would certainly have been better to be able to choose breakfast at the buffet. I recommend this property to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing day, while remaining close to Rome.
